Disadvantaged Swimmer / Inclusion
Policy
Barrow Amateur Swimming Club
supports the premise that swimming should be an inclusive sport and that young
persons with potential should not be disadvantaged. As such the club provides a
designated inclusion fund the purpose of this is to support those swimmers who
might otherwise have to give up the sport through financial hardship.
The fund is discretionary.
Persons receiving Income Support, Income Based Job Seekers Allowance or can
demonstrate a similar level of hardship can apply to the Club Committee,
through the Treasurer, for a reduction in the cost of membership and/or
training fees. The amount of the reduction is at the discretion of the Club
Committee although the following guidelines apply to a family seeking to use
the fund.
For the First Child The
member would pay 80% of normal fees
For the Second Child The member
would pay 70% of normal fees
For the Third / subsequent
child The member would pay 50% of normal
fees
