EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
At all club coaching sessions or competitions
there must be a named safety representative. That person must have a thorough
knowledge of the Park Leisure Centre Emergency Action Plan (EAP). They will
have access to emergency contact details for each swimmer in the squad. These
details are held in a file in the secure cupboard in the poolside storeroom.
In the event of an accident, he/she will take
care of any emergency procedures that need to be carried out in conjunction
with the EAP of the Leisure Centre.
This will involve any or all of the
following:
·
alert
the lifeguard,
·
administer
First Aid,
·
inform
the Leisure Centre staff,
·
notify
the event organisers or promoter,
·
request
the emergency services,
·
contact
the parent/carer.
These actions should be carried out as
appropriate to the incident, to ensure the best treatment for the swimmer.
Following any incident
or accident the ASA Accident Book must be completed.
