Message To All D&B Squad Parents

Dear Parents,

Mandy Steele, who coaches the ‘D’ Squad, has asked me to say that she is keen to start training the ‘D’ Squad using the starting blocks. However, these need to be set up at the start of the training sessions, which Mandy is not able to do as she needs to supervise the swimmers. As such Mandy is asking for parents who can spare a few minutes at the start of sessions to help set the pool up. It doesn’t take long – even I can do it!

You may also have noticed that a number of swimmers have now progressed to B Squad and A Squad, which means that their parents who were coaching have naturally moved with them. This means that there is a shortage of volunteers to help Mandy and Brendan in D&B Squads on the pool side. Mandy and Brendan give their time freely, as do all the coaches and volunteers at the club. None are paid for the work we do and the coaches put in many hours per week. If there is anyone who sits in the cafe while the session is underway (or anyone else for that matter) who wants to help poolside, then please speak to Mandy or any of the coaches or volunteers. Alternatively contact the club via the e-mail address Barrowasc@ymail.co.uk.

Believe me, being poolside makes the session go quicker and remember, you may be helping produce a new Rebecca Adlington or Liam Tancock!

Thanks in anticipation!
